From being recently named as Chairman Of DreamWorks Animation in October, to getting engaged to George Lucas earlier this month, to today's news… Mellody Hobson has been the subject of mainstream press headlines, maybe more-so in recent months, than she'd been in years prior.

CBS News announced today that it has named Mellody Hobson as a contributor and analyst on finance and economy, and will appear across all CBS News platforms, including CBS This Morning, CBS Evening News, Face the Nation, as well as CBS' radio and online platforms.

Hobson begins her CBS News duties in January 20.

"Mellody has extraordinary passion for financial literacy-helping people understand and manage their resources in today's complex global economy," said David Rhodes, president of CBS News. "We're so pleased to have her insightful analysis of business and finance."

Is it only a matter of time before she gets a show of her own?

By the way, she's also president of Ariel Investments, LLC, a Chicago-based investment firm managing over $3 billion in assets, and one of the largest African American-owned money management and mutual fund companies in the United States!

Props all-around, once again! Looking forward to seeing more of her on the small screen.
