Get the tissues ready for Marvel’s upcoming What If…? series, which will include Chadwick Boseman’s final performance.
The upcoming animated series will focus on alternate universe stories of beloved Marvel heroes, asking what they would have become if different circumstances happened in their hero’s origin story. Boseman voiced T’Challa if he became Star-Lord instead of Guardians of the Galaxy‘s Peter Quill.
As reported by TVLine, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige told Emmy Magazine that Boseman “came in about four times and recorded numerous episodes.”
“In hindsight, it’s very moving,” he said.
What If…? will debut on Disney+ next summer. Boseman’s last film, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom , is currently streaming on Netflix.
