Chance the Rapper is set to star in the upcoming Sesame Street live-action film at Warner Bros. Anne Hathway is also starring in the film, directed by Portlandia co-creator, Jonathan Krisel.

It has not been confirmed if their characters will be human or puppets. The film is set for release on Jan. 21, 2021.

The official description, per VarietyThe story follows the Sesame Street characters after they are mysteriously expelled from their own neighborhood, forcing them to collaborate with history show host Sally Hawthorne to prove that Sesame Street actually exists.

The rapper, whose real name is Chancellor Bennett, has been slowly getting into film and television over the past few years. This will be his second major film after starring in the A24 horror pic, Slice, with Zazie Beetz and Joe Keery. He also had a small role in 2019’s The Lion King and is also set for a role in this year’s Trolls World Tour.

Chance the Rapper will also be the host for the upcoming revival of Punk’d which is set over at Quibi. He also is a judge on Netflix’s Rhythm + Flow
