Gina Torres’ Suits spinoff (at one time known as Suits: Second City) has added four new actors.

Chantel Riley, Eli Goree, Bethany Joy Lenz and Isabel Arraiza join Torres and the previously-cast Simon Kassianides and Morgan Spector.

Production is beginning on the new series in Los Angeles.

The series will focus on Torres’ character, Jessica Pearson, as she enters the fray of Chicago politics.

Goree will play the mayor (Spector)’s press secretary, and Riley is Pearson’s cousin who is a nursing assistant.

Torres will also serve as an executive producer. Aaron Korsh, who created Suits and serves as its executive producer, will also work as the showrunner.

When the spinoff was announced in March, Chris McCumber, president of entertainment networks at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, said of Torres’ character, “Gina’s portrayal of Jessica Pearson as one of television’s strongest, most successful businesswomen has made a huge impact with fans. We can’t wait to explore this next chapter in the Suits legacy–and a brand new world for Jessica.”

Torres also said at the time that fans would get to see all facets of Jessica’s life in the new series.

“Fans of Suits have come to know Jessica as this confident, kick-ass attorney who is always five steps ahead of everyone, but that’s only 5-10 percent of the entirety of this woman,” she said. “What is wonderful is that the audience will be treated to not just the greatest television expected of Suits but also peek into Jessica’s world.”

Both Goree and Riley are Canadian, and this is the first U.S. series regular role for both of them. They both appeared in supporting roles in the Jesse Owens biopic Race. Goree recurs on HBO’s Ballers right now, while Riley stars in the Canadian series Frankie Drake Mysteries and recently appeared in Syfy’s Wynonna Earp.

Deadline first reported the new castings.
