ABC has dropped the first official trailer for their upcoming series, Marvel’s Inhumans.

It’ll be ABC’s third Marvel series, following Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the canceled Marvel’s Agent Carter, which aired for two seasons. A pick-up for Marvel’s Most Wanted was passed on by the network.

Marvel’s Inhumans explores the never-before-told epic adventure of the Royal Family including Black Bolt, the enigmatic, commanding King of the Inhumans, with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.

Anson Mount, Ken Leung, Eme Ikwuakor, Isabelle Cornish, Mike Moh, Sonya Balmores and Ellen Woglom star.

Of note, given this blog’s specific interests, is Eme Ikwuakor (previously appeared in Concussion and Extant), is playing Gorgon. The character is a cousin to Black Bolt (Anson Mount) and also a member of the Royal family, and leader of Attilan’s military: “With super strong legs, complete with hooves, he can generate destructive seismic waves with a single stomp. The yin to his cousin Karnak’s (Ken Leung) yang, Gorgon would rather fight than talk to solve his problems.” Unfortunately, we don’t get to see much of Ikwuakor and Gorgon in the first trailer.

It was previously announced (and evidenced by this trailer) that the show would be shot partly on IMAX cameras.

Marvel’s Inhumans were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe.

“Marvel’s Inhumans” is executive produced by Scott Buck (Dexter, Marvel’s Iron Fist) along with Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Luke Cage) and Jim Chory (Marvel’s Daredevil, Marvel’s Jessica Jones, Marvel’s Luke Cage) with Buck serving as showrunner. Roel Reine (The Delivery, Black Sails) will direct the first two episodes. This series is a Marvel and IMAX project and is co-produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios.
