Chris Rock Jokes About Oscars Slap Dave Chappelle Tackled Onstage: 'Was That Will Smith?'

Leave it to Chris Rock to crack a joke after Dave Chappelle’s encounter onstage last night.

While closing out his set during the “Netflix Is a Joke Festival” on Tuesday in Los Angeles, Chappelle found himself being tackled down to the ground by a man who stormed the stage.

After Chappelle’s security subdued the attacker and took him away, Rock joined Chappelle onstage where he cracked a Will Smith joke.

Chris Rock called the attack the 'wildest s***, I have ever seen!”

According to eyewitnesses, after Dave Chappelle’s attacker was taken away by his security personnel, Chris Rock joined him onstage to close out his comedy set.

Rock immediately cracked a joke about the incident. He even mentioned Will Smith in his quip.

“Dave Chappelle got tackled to the ground on stage! Then Chris Rock came out and said, ‘was it Will Smith?!’ The wildest s***, I have ever seen!” author Julissa Arce wrote on Twitter.

Chris Rock's infamous Oscars encounter with Will Smith is still being talked about

Tuesday night’s comedy show was the first time Chris Rock has mentioned Will Smith since their infamous slapping incident at the Oscars back in March.

During the coveted event, Smith walked onstage and slapped Rock across the face after the comedian made a joke about the actor’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.

The incident sparked major controversy and widespread condemnation of Smith’s behavior. Smith eventually resigned from the Academy and has been put on a 10-year ban from the event.
