Reg E. Cathey features in the cast of “The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman’s Cinemax drama pilot “Outcast,” which is based on his new comic book of the same name, which centers on Kyle Barnes (Patrick Fugit), who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now, as an adult, he embarks on a spiritual journey to find answers, but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.

Cathey plays the city Police Chief named Giles.

The series premieres on Friday, June 3 at 10pm ET on Cinemax. But the network has released the first episode online, 2 weeks early. Check it out below.

The pilot was directed by Adam Wingard (“The Guest”). Other cast include Gabriel Bateman, Wrenn Schmidt, Kate Lyn Sheil, Julia Crockett, David Denman and Brent Spiner.

I have yet to watch it, so I can’t make any informed commentary on how involved the character Cathey plays is in the overall narrative. I likely won’t have time to check it out until some time over the weekend. But feel free to get ahead of me below:
