College Hill: Celebrity Edition‘s first trailer has NeNe Leakes, Ray J and many others…including Stacey Dash looking uncomfortable in her African American studies class.

In a sneak peek of the new series, the Clueless star along with fellow celebrities like Lamar Odom, Big Freedia, Dreamdoll, India Love and Slim Thug, try to expand their educational horizons by navigating college life through a celebrity lens while showcasing the unique cultural and academic experience of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU).

1. The trailer begins with the group enrolling in Texas Southern University where they will work to complete a specialty certificate program.

The celebrities then attend their first class, African American Studies, which the trailer shows to be an uncomfortable experience for Dash.

2. The rest of the sneak peek teases plenty of ups and downs the celebrities experience as college students. Will they graduate or will this opportunity get the best of them?

The eight-episode series will premiere on June 27 on BET+.

3. The original show premiered in 2004 and ran for five seasons.

College Hill was produced by former powerhouse couple Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and Tracey Edmonds. Eight students from HBCUs and their personal, academic, and professional lives were documented. Filming took place at Southern University in Louisiana, Langston University in Oklahoma, Virginia State University, University of Virgin Islands, and the Atlanta triple threat of Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College and Spelman College.

Despite high ratings and showcasing HBCUs in a different way, not all people were fans. Students and academics of HBCUs felt it was a negative portrayal of the experience and wanted it off the air. One student even wrote an open letter.
