Finally, we have first-look photos from the long-awaited Coming 2 America! The film, originally set for a theatrical release via Paramount, will get a global release on March 5th, 2021 via Amazon Studios’ Amazon Prime Video.

The film stars Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, KiKi Layne, Shari Headley, with Wesley Snipes and James Earl Jones and also starring John Amos, Teyana Taylor, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Paul Bates, Nomzamo Mbatha, Bella Murphy, Vanessa Bell Calloway and Paul Bates.

Here’s the logline: Set in the lush and royal country of Zamunda, newly-crowned King Akeem (Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi (Hall) embark on an all-new hilarious adventure that has them traversing the globe from their great African nation to the borough of Queens, New York – where it all began.

As reported before, the film will see Akeem (who is set to become Zamunda’s King) return to the U.S. to discover the son he never knew he had, LaVelle, to honor his dying father’s wish to see his grandson as prince.

The sequel is directed by Craig Brewer, from a screenplay by Kenya Barris and Barry W. Blaustein and David Sheffield.
