'Coming 2 America' Reveals Leslie Jones As Mother Of Akeem's Son, Wesley Snipes And Teyana Taylor As The Izzis

Following Thursday’s first-look images, Amazon Studios has released more additional photos from Coming 2 America, introducing many of the film’s new characters. The photos confirm a lot of the early plot details about the film that surfaced — the film will see Akeem (who is set to become Zamunda’s King) return to the U.S. to discover the son he never knew he had, LaVelle, to honor his dying father’s wish to see his grandson as prince.

The film stars Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, KiKi Layne, Shari Headley, with Wesley Snipes and James Earl Jones and also starring John Amos, Teyana Taylor, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Paul Bates, Nomzamo Mbatha, Bella Murphy, Vanessa Bell Calloway and Paul Bates.

The first of the photos confirms Leslie Jones as the mother of Akeem’s long-lost son, Lavelle (Jermaine Fowler). It also features the first look at returning star Paul Bates as Oha.
