'Coming 2 America' Trailer: From Zamunda To NYC, This Sequel Is Going For Nostalgia

After releasing a slew of first-look images last week, Amazon Studios has dropped the first teaser trailer for Coming 2 America.

The film stars Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, Jermaine Fowler, Leslie Jones, Tracy Morgan, KiKi Layne, Shari Headley, with Wesley Snipes and James Earl Jones and also starring John Amos, Teyana Taylor, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Paul Bates, Nomzamo Mbatha, Bella Murphy, Vanessa Bell Calloway and Paul Bates.

Early on, plot details surfaced stating that the film will see Akeem (who is set to become Zamunda’s King) return to the U.S. to discover the son he never knew he had, LaVelle, to honor his dying father’s wish to see his grandson as prince.

Here’s the official logline: Set in the lush and royal country of Zamunda, newly-crowned King Akeem (Murphy) and his trusted confidante Semmi (Hall) embark on an all-new hilarious adventure that has them traversing the globe from their great African nation to the borough of Queens, New York – where it all began.

The sequel is directed by Craig Brewer, from a screenplay by Kenya Barris and Barry W. Blaustein and David Sheffield.
