Common Joins Season 2 Of Netflix’s ‘Never Have I Ever’

Season 2 of Netflix’s Never Have I Ever will feature a familiar face.

Common first expressed his affinity for the Mindy Kaling-produced series during the SAG Awards, stating it was his favorite show to watch during the lockdown.

Kaling, while fanning herself, gushed, “Oscar winner Common is into our show. I wonder if he likes the producers of our show, I can leave now, can take my mic off.”

Now, Common will appear on the show. He will play Dr. Chris Jackson, a dapper dermatologist who shares a building with Nalini. With an impressive clientele and resume that can impress the most established person, Dr. Jackson fails to do so with Nalini.

The comedy highlights the challenging life of a first-generation Indian-American teenager. Maitreyi Ramakrishnan stars as Devi, the epitome of a scholastically successful child. Devi explores the new romantic relationships and the pressure of high school and home life in season 2.

The series stars Ramona Young (Eleanor), Lee Rodriguez (Fabiola), Poorna Jagannathan (Nalini), Richa Moorjani (Kamala), Jaren Lewison (Ben), Darren Barnet (Paxton) and Megan Suri (Aneesa).

Never Have I Ever is created by executive producer Mindy Kaling, with Lang Fisher serving as executive producer, showrunner and writer. From Universal Television, the project is also executive produced by 3 Arts Entertainment's Howard Klein and David Miner.
