Common on SUICIDE SQUAD setCommon’s role in David Ayer’s upcoming "Suicide Squad" has been a mystery since it was announced last year that he’d joined the movie’s cast.

Common on SUICIDE SQUAD setFanboys/girls of course went to work, speculating on what character he’s playing in the movie, especially after some on-set photos emerged (above and left) showing the actor in costume. Some said he’s playing a character named Abel Tarrant, a.k.a. Tattooed Man – a villain apparently, with the power to turn his tattoos into deadly weapons. Others said that the fangs on the jacket he’s wearing suggest that he’s playing Bronze Tiger, a character Michael Jai White played in previous episodes of the WB’s action drama "The Arrow" – a claw-wielding assassin better known to DC Comics fans as a member of both the League of Assassins and the Suicide Squad.

In a new interview with Complex, published yesterday, Common reveals that his character’s name is "Monster T" adding that he’s "in business with the Joker" as played by Jared Leto in the movie. He unfortunately doesn’t go into details about "Monster T," so fanboys/girls will have to chew on what he does reveal and speculate further.

The Complex interview is actually for the upcoming "Barbershop 3" and Ice Cube is also present for it. Cube dismisses rumors that there are plans for a "Straight Outta Compton" sequel, as well as any talk about him entering the Marvel cinematic universe.

Common joins Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (playing Killer Croc), Viola Davis (as Amanda Waller), Will Smith (who’ll be playing the character known as Deadshot), as well as Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn), Jared, Leto (The Joker), Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang), Joel Kinnaman (as Rick Flag), Jay Hernandez (as El Diablo), and Cara Delevingne (Enchantress) in the upcoming movie.

The "Suicide Squad" series follows a group of super-villains who are forced to go on covert missions for a shadowy government agency, in exchange for commuted sentences.

WB plans to release the movie during the summer of 2016.
