We really haven't given him, or this film any coverage; it's about time we did, don't you think?

Tom Cruise's black son, Connor Cruise is making only his second on-screen appearance in what I'd say is his first major role (he played a young Will Smith in Seven Pounds), co-starring in a remake of Red Dawn – the 1984 action film about a group of teenagers who form an insurgency when their town is invaded – this time by North Korean soldiers.

The young cast is led by Chris Hemsworth. By the way, Edwin Hodge, brother of Aldis Hodge, is also part of the cast.

The film was actually shot in 2009, and completed in 2010, and is finally being released in theaters this week.

I haven't seen the film yet, and it really isn't one that I'd be in any rush to see; I don't know about you, but a storyline that involves an American invasion by the North Koreans just doesn't ring true to me; the so-called Red Scare (hence the title)… it's 2012 not 1949.

I guess Muslim terrorists are becoming out of fashion in American/Hollywood cinema, and we need a new go-to bad guy.

Anyway, here's a clip from the film, highlighting Connor Cruise:
