Dracula’s fateful voyage from the Carpathian Mountains to Britain is captured in all its horrible glory in the trailer for The Last Voyage of the Demeter.

The upcoming horror film stars Corey Hawkins as a doctor aboard the ship Demeter. The other members of the ship, including a stoaway, the captain, the first mate, and other passengers, must try to survive against the horror below deck, which happens to be a ruthless vampire ready to suck Britain dry.

According to the official description:

Based on a single chilling chapter from Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula, The Last Voyage of the Demeter tells the terrifying story of the merchant ship Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo—fifty unmarked wooden crates—from Carpathia to London.

Strange events befall the doomed crew as they attempt to survive the ocean voyage, stalked each night by a merciless presence onboard the ship. When the Demeter finally arrives off the shores of England, it is a charred, derelict wreck. There is no trace of the crew.

The film also stars Aisling Franciosi, Liam Cunningham, David Dastmalchian, Jon Jon Briones, Stefan Kapicic, Nikolai Nikolaeff and Javier Botet. “Norwegian horror virtuoso” André Øvredal directs from a script by Bragi F. Schut, Stefan Ruzowitzky and Zak Olkewicz. The script is based on the chapter of Dracula entitled “The Captain’s Log.”

The film is produced by Phoenix Pictures’ Brad Fischer, Mike Medavoy and Arnold Messer. Matthew Hirsch executive produces.
