Damon Wayans, Jr., who is reportedly the most in-demand comedy actor this pilot season, has selected his project.

After fielding over a dozen offers, he’ll star in an untitled, multi-cam comedy pilot on CBS.

Deadline, who broke the news, believes it to be the biggest talent deal of pilot season so far, in that if the pilot is ordered to series, it would include points on the show and a two-year first-look producing deal with CBS TV Studios.

Here’s the series and his character description: “The untitled comedy revolves around Peter (Wayans) and Claire, a thirtysomething couple who are tired of their mundane life and start to reconnect with their younger, cooler selves when an emerging pop star, who is drawn to their super-normal suburban life, moves in. Wayans’ Peter is a good guy with a sense of humor, happily married to his dream wife, Claire. He is an accountant and business manager for Cooper, the young superstar musician who comes to live with them.”

Despite being one of the most (if not the most) in-demand comedy actors for the past several years, this is his first network pilot since New Girl in 2011. This would be his third broadcast series overall, including New Girl and Happy Endings, both successful comedy series. A pilot he was cast in last season, FX’s Singularity, did not get picked up.

This would also be his first multi-camera series since recurring on My Wife and Kids, which starred his father.
