Cicely Tyson might have been awarded her well-earned honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards Sunday night, but the night couldn’t go long without other Black actresses getting the short end of the stick in Hollywood.

According to The Root, several stock photo agencies mislabeled Danai Gurira as Viola Davis, who wasn’t even in attendance at the Governors Awards ceremony.

Viola Davis, 53, and Danai Gurira, 40, do favor each other, but it’s literally the job of these photographers to know who they’re photographing and to get the details correct. This also isn’t the first time Black actors have been mistaken for each other in the press, with Omarosa being mistaken for Angela Bassett in the New York Times just months ago. This is just the latest time it has happened and it remains a sticking point in how Hollywood tends to lump Black actors together instead of differentiating them as individuals.

However, the mistake brings up an opportunity; what if Hollywood ever made a film starring both Gurira and Davis as sisters? That kind of casting would make for an amazing drama. Or, if they decided to play against type, they could go HAM in a Will Packer-produced comedy. Come on, Hollywood! Capitalize on your error!
