The report claims that DWTS executives are reportedly searching for an A-list celebrity to replace Banks as the show’s ratings have taken a major dip. A source close to production told The Sun exclusively. As a result of the ratings despite a monumental 30th season, the show will not return to its twice-annual broadcast next season.
Banks and show executives are scheduled to meet with ABC bosses in the New Year to “map out 2022” the source said. They are uncertain whether or not they want the former supermodel to return.
Network executives are reportedly on the hunt for a new host
Fans have voiced their issues with Banks as host since she stepped into the role. Now, network higher-ups are said to be more focused on “signing at least one major star” to reignite the audience’s love for the dance competition series.
The source revealed that senior executives within the BBC Studios LA are working to find “at least one or ideally two major household names that fascinate fans.” The meeting is to “think big” and lure “an Oscar, Emmy or Grammy-winning star, who will make headlines on and off-screen.”
