It’s time to say goodbye to two Days of Our Lives regulars and one of the most prominent Black couples in daytime.

According to the latest issue of Soap Opera Digest, both Lamon Archey (Eli Grant) and Sal Stowers (Lani Price) have decided to leave the long-running NBC soap opera after spending years in the roles.

Archey, who stepped into the role of Eli in 2017, will appear in his last episode the week of July 4. As for Stowers, who has played Lani since 2015, her last episode will air Friday, July 1st.

Lani Price's storyline suggests she will be sent to prison

It wasn’t that long ago that Days of Our Lives fans witnessed fate deal Eli and Lani an unfortunate hand.

Back in March, Eli found himself in an altercation with TR that resulted in him getting shot and falling into a coma.

When Eli woke up, Lani learned that her father was the one who shot Eli and went to confront him. Upon arrival, Lani found that TR had knocked Abe out cold, resulting in her shooting and killing her father.

Eventually, Lani confesses to the murder and is escorted by Eli to booking where she will await her fate.

Sal Stowers has departed the show before.

This isn’t the first time Stowers exited Days Of Our Lives.

According to Michael Fairman TV, the actress took a six-month break from the show in 2016, before returning to the show through 2022.

Archey also appears in a recurring role on The CW’s All American.

Will either make a return to the show in the near future? We’ll just have to wait and see.

Days Of Our Lives airs weekdays at 1 p.m. ET on NBC.
