20th Century Fox has officially set the cast for Death on the Nile, an Agatha Christie adaptation and the sequel of sorts to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express (directed by Kenneth Branagh). The central three characters starring alongside Branagh will be Letitia Wright, Gal Gadot and Armie Hammer. Wright’s attachment to the film was first reported back in April.

Several other cast members have also been confirmed now including Sophie Okonedo, Annette Bening, Russell Brand, Ali Fazal, Dawn French, Rose Leslie, Emma Mackey and Jennifer Saunders.

This will be Wright’s first non-Marvel, studio feature since her star-making Black Panther role. Like Orient Express, Death on the Nile will see Hercule Poirot investigate another murder. Not much is known about Wright’s character but she will be a lead suspect.

The film kicks off production this week in London before moving to Egypt.

Wright, who appeared earlier this year in Amazon’s Guava Island, is also set for some indie films, including Hold Back the Stars, a sci-fi romance drama with fellow Brit, John Boyega. She’ll also star in the Steve McQueen BBC-Amazon series Small Axe.

“Crimes of passion are dangerously sexy. Agatha Christie has written a riveting story of emotional chaos and violent criminality and Michael Green has once again written a screenplay to match…. There are significant new twists, an awe-inspiring desert landscape, and a chance to celebrate big screen entertainment in glorious 65 millimeter celluloid!” said Branagh in a statement.

The film is expected in theaters on October 20.
