Grey’s Anatomy star Norman Nixon Jr. shocked fans with his dance moves before they realized his mother is literally Grey’s Anatomy actress and producer and legend Debbie Allen.
According to Atlanta Black Star, Nixon, who often works alongside his mother when she directs episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, became a viral star after creating a video with his mother to participate in the “Ayy Bay Bay” TikTok Challenge created by TikToker Jubi2Fye.

The video has received over 174,000 likes and Allen posted a caption saying, "Taking a dance break with my son @ThumpNixon on the set of @GreysABC! I wonder where he gets it from."
Multiple celebrities, including Tina Knowles-Lawson, Taraji P. Henson, Holly Robinson Peete, Terri Vaughn, Affion Crockett and Mara Brock Akil all praised the video.
Fans of both Allen and Nixon have also shared their love of the video, with one commenter writing how while Nixon looks like his father, “he got his swag from his mother!!” Another wrote that they wanted Allen “to adopt me as an adult.” Others also showed their surprise at Nixon being Allen’s son.
One commenter summed up the jist of where Nixon got his talent by writing, “We shouldn’t be surprised about his moves…look at who his mother is!! THE Debbie Allen!!”
