Delroy Lindo has joined Cush Jumbo and Christine Baranski in CBS’ spin-off of its critically-acclaimed legal drama series, “The Good Wife,” which just ended its run after seven seasons.

The series will be available exclusively on CBS All Access, the Network’s digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service. Following “Star Trek,” it will be the second original series developed specifically for CBS All Access. So CBS is serious about its streaming platform, creating content specifically for it, putting it in direct competition with bigger players in the space.

Cush Jumbo (as Lucca Quinn) and veteran of the series Christine Baranski (reprising her role as Diane Lockhart) are the spin-off series leads.

Lindo has signed up to play Robert Boseman, an attorney who poaches Diane’s (Baranski) associates and clients when she gets into financial trouble, threatening her ability to stay in business, the network announced Thursday. Lindo’s character “dominates every scene, intimidates every lawyer, and is beloved by every client,” executive producers Robert and Michelle King said in a statement. “He needs to look like a Chicago lawyer, but have a Shakespearean facility with language.”

Sarah Steele is also set to reprise her role as Marissa Gold (who will work as the new firm’s investigator).

CBS says that the new series will premiere in the spring of 2017, and will pick up one year after the events from the finale episode of “The Good Wife.”

Robert and Michelle King, creators and executive producers of “The Good Wife,” will co-create and executive produce the spinoff with Phil Alden Robinson (“Field of Dreams”).

Ridley Scott, David Zucker, Liz Glotzer, and Brooke Kennedy also serving as executive producers.
