Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington team up again decades after co-starring in The Pelican Brief in the upcoming Netflix film Leave The World Behind, directed by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail.

According to Deadline, the film is an adaptation of an upcoming novel by Rumaan Alam and will find Roberts not only working with Washington again but collaborating with Esmail again as well, after she starred in Esmail’s Homecoming on Amazon.

The film is a sci-fi family drama that revolves around a couple vacationing with their teenage children. Another couple, who owns the vacation home, interrupts the family’s life after a city blackout. On top of current modes of communication stop working, such as television, internet, radio, and landline telephones, sonic booms go off in the distance, disrupting animal migrating patterns and causing the family’s mental and physical health to decline. While the owners and renters of the home are similarly affluent, the races of the couples–the owners being Black and the renters being white–come into play.

Roberts, Esmail, and Washington are all producing, with Roberts, Lisa Gillan, and Marisa Yeres Gill via her Red Om Films production company and Esmail and Chad Hamilton through Esmail Corp. Alam will executive produce.
