Many of us know Coco Jones is a singer as well as an actress. But if you’re thinking she came to fame through American Idol or The Voice, you’re wrong.

Jones was actually gained nationwide fame after winning Radio Disney’s Next Big Thing contest. According to Wilson Living Magazine, Jones initially got her start singing the National Anthem for the St. Louis Rams. She also was featured on Maury’s Most Talented Kids 2009, hosted by Maury Povich.

Jones went on to participate in the Next Big Thing, becoming the competition’s runner-up and was signed to Disney Music Group’s label Hollywood Records. Through Hollywood Records, Jones released her EP debut single “Holla at the DJ” in 2012 and her EP Made Of in 2013. She also starred in the hit Disney Channel Original Movie, Let It Shine. Jones became an independent artist in 2014, releasing her independent single “Peppermint.”

Jones has continued making music from 2014 to the present day, with her latest single “Hollyweird” debuting this November.
