Kenya Barris’ reboot of Cheaper by the Dozen has been officially announced by Disney+. The news came down at Thursday’s Disney Investor Day.

Barris has been working on the film since he first set an overall movie deal with Fox before it folded into Disney.

There were rumors circulating about the project earlier this year and Regina Hall was said to star.

Disney+ has confirmed Gabrielle Union as the star, so no word if Hall had scheduling conflicts.

Initial rumors also said it would focus on an interracial family. That part was also not confirmed by Disney+ either, which just describes the story as one focusing on “a blended family of 12, navigating a hectic home life and their family business.”

This is just one of many projects Union has in development as an actress or producer.
