Disney's Freeform Posts Open Letter, Blasting Critics Of Halle Bailey's 'The Little Mermaid' Casting

The Disney-owned network, Freeform, is standing in solidarity with one of its actresses. Halle Bailey, who co-stars in grown-ish has been tapped to topline the upcoming live-action The Little Mermaid (also from Disney, of course) as Ariel.

In an effort to shut down the naysayers, most of whom have tried to veil their racism in nonsensical excuses, Freeform posted an open letter on social media this weekend.

Bailey and her sister, Chloe, co-star as twins Jazz and Sky in Freeform’s grown-ish which is in the middle of its sophomore season run on the network.
