DL Hughley is heading to the FX network with a series in development that’s based on his life as a family man (married for over 25 years, with 3 kids) and radio host.

Hughley will co-write the series with Sivert Glarum and Michael Jamin, and the three will executive produce with 3 Arts’ Michael Rotenberg and Dave Becky for FX Prods.

It won’t be the first time Hughley’s starred in a scripted TV series. Remember The Hughleys – the sitcom that aired on ABC from 1998 to 2000, before moving to UPN, where it ran until 2002?

Earlier this year, Hughley was hired, along with comedian Michael Ian Black, to host the new TBS/Mark Burnett original series, Trust Me, I’m A Game Show Host, which will see the show’s two hosts battle to deceive contestants.

Hughley and Black will each present contestants with seemingly implausible facts – one of them is telling the truth and the other is not. The contestant’s job is to pick which of the two is telling the truth. Winners take home cash prizes.

Trust Me, I’m A Game Show Host will debut on TBS this fall.
