As fans of Donald Glover are still reeling from the high of the premiere of the third season of his FX comedy-drama series Atlanta, the actor, screenwriter and musician is dropping more details about his new show and who is in the writer’s room.

It has been a rumor for some time now, and in an interview with Vanity Fair, Glover confirmed that Malia Obama is in the writers’ room for his new show, which is set to air on Amazon’s Prime Video.

While details about the series are being kept under wraps, the show is under the working title Hive and reportedly revolves around a “Beyonce-type” character. Malia Obama is the eldest daughter of former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama.

Glover had nothing but high praise for Obama during his interview with Vanity Fair at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles, where he was celebrating the season three premiere of Atlanta.

“She’s just like an amazingly talented person,” Glover said. “She’s really focused, and she’s working really hard.”

Stephen Glover, Donald’s younger brother who is also an executive producer on the project, also heaped high praise on Obama.

“Donald always says perspective is important, and people with different perspectives are important for a writers’ room,” he said. ‘And for sure, [Malia] definitely has a unique perspective on everything. So we wanted to hear her stories and have her work with us. Listening to her stories and having her involved really gave us a lot of good ideas.”

Malia Obama is no stranger to the television industry, having worked as an intern on the HBO show Girls as well as a production assistant on the Halle Berry-led sci-fi drama Extant.
