Dorian Missick has been added to the cast of the upcoming biopic on Brian Banks.

It will be the real-life story of Banks, “an all-American high-school football player committed to USC by his junior year whose life was upended in 2002 when falsely accused of rape. Despite maintaining his innocence, Banks was railroaded through the system and sentenced to a decade of prison and parole. After his conviction was overturned in 2012, he played for the Atlanta Falcons in a preseason game in 2013. Aldis Hodge will portray Banks.

Greg Kinnear has also has been cast to play the head of the California Innocence Project helped overturn his conviction.

Missick will portray Officer Mick Randolph, an authoritative and unbending guy, who hates sex offenders, and treats Brian with contempt and has no empathy. Later, however, when he begins to realize that Brian may have actually been railroaded, he finally cuts him a break.

The actor is currently recurring on TNT’s Animal Kingdom, and his upcoming projects include Monster with Jeffrey Wright and Jennifer Hudson, the Unsolved Biggie & Tupac series for USA and the film Jinn, starring opposite his wife, Simone Missick of Luke Cage fame (Jinn is also the feature directorial debut of Shadow & Act contributor Nijla Mu’min).
