The RuPaul’s Drag Race franchise is expanding to Belgium, Apple TV+’s latest critically acclaimed series has been renewed, Disney+’s Sneakerella previews a new original song ahead of its premiere and more in today’s Shadow and Act news roundup.

It looks like RuPaul’s Drag Race is adding another international iteration to its franchise!

World of Wonder announced that the hit franchise is expanding to Belgium with Drag Race Belgique.

The series will premiere exclusively on WOW Presents Plus in the US and select territories worldwide. This new version of the global franchise, which will air in French with subtitles, joins existing formats across Thailand, Chile, Canada, Holland, the UK, Spain, Australia and New Zealand, France, the Philippines, and Italy.

“Drag is a universal language, and Drag Race continues to attract global viewers, so we are thrilled to introduce a fierce new group of queens with Drag Race Belgique,” said World of Wonder co-founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato. “As our drag family continues to grow, we look forward to watching these Belgium queens sashay onto our screens.”

The host, judges and premiere date will be announced at a later time.

Critical hit 'Pachinko' renewed for season 2 at Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has renewed Pachinko for season 2.

Created by Soo Hugh, the series based on the bestselling novel. The finale of season 1 aired on Friday.

Apple TV+ says “the new season will continue the riveting story that spans generations and is told across three languages – Korean, Japanese, and English.”
The official description: Pachinko chronicles the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family across four generations as they leave their homeland in an indomitable quest to survive and thrive. Starting in South Korea in the early 1900s, the story is told through the eyes of a remarkable matriarch, Sunja, who triumphs against all odds.

Disney+'s 'Sneakerella' drops its original new song, "Kicks"

Disney+ just gave viewers a sneak peek at its upcoming movie Sneakerella with the music video debut of the film’s original song “Kicks.”

The track is performed by Chosen Jacobs during the film’s opening musical sequence. It introduces the main character “El (Jacobs) and his affinity for sneakers as he glides his way through the vibrant street-sneaker subculture of New York City.”

The song was written by Antonina Armato, Tim James Price, Thomas Armato Sturges and Adam Schmalholz and produced by Armato and Price.

Sneakerella, which puts a contemporary twist on the Cinderella fairy tale, begins streaming May 13 on Disney+.
