Kid Cudi has landed a prime role in Dreamland, the upcoming opioid epidemic thriller that stars Gary Oldman and Armie Hammer.

The pic also stars Evangeline Lilly, Greg Kinnear, Michelle Rodriguez, Sam Worthington, India Varma and Lily-Rose Depp.

It is filming in Montreal right now. The story film will chronicle three stories that will intersect: ” a drug trafficker (Hammer) arranges a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling operation between Canada and the U.S.; an architect (Lilly) recovering from an OxyContin addiction tracks down the truth behind her son’s involvement with narcotics; and a university professor (Oldman) battles unexpected revelations about his employer, a drug company with deep government influence bringing a new “non-addictive” painkiller to market.”

Cudi, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, will be “an FDA investigator delving deep into prescription safety.” The rapper has expanded to film more and more over the past few years, including roles in Vincent N Roxxy and James White.

Deadline first reported the news of Cudi’s casting.
