Even if you aren’t familiar with the D&D game, the film, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, is a fun riot of a time.

The film is the classic conceit of a Dungeons & Dragons campaign–a group of misfits band together to have adventures, find treasure, and sometimes save the world from calamity. The same happens in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, in which, as the title suggests, a band of thieves come together to become unwitting heroes.

It is directed by Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley based on the screenplay they wrote with Michael Gilio. The film’s story is by Chris McKay and Michael Gilio, based on Hasbro’s Dungeons & Dragons franchise of tabletop and card games.

Shadow and Act spoke to stars Regé-Jean Page, Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Sophia Lillis and Justice Smith to talk about the film, including its mass appeal, their characters’ strengths and more. You can check out the full interview above.
