Dwayne Johnson (does he still go by The Rock?) is reportedly “in talks” to join G.I. Joe 2, aka GI Joe: Cobra Strikes.
If all goes accordingly, Johnson will play a character named Roadblock.
Who is Roadblock you ask, as I did? Per Wikipedia, he is one of the most prominent African-Americans in the series, whose primary duty is as a heavy machine gunner; he’s also a cook, and cousin to Heavy Duty, who was played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje in the first GI Joe movie in 2009. So, I suppose that means Heavy Duty won’t be in the sequel? Can’t have too many “colored” folks in one GI Joe movie, right?
The film will be directed in 3D, by the way.
