On the final night of the Creative Arts Emmys, several Black actors won key awards.
In the guest acting categories, Eddie Murphy won Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for Saturday Night Live, Maya Rudolph won Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series also for Saturday Night Live and Ron Cephas Jones won Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for This is Us.
Of note, RuPaul also won Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program and ESPN’s The Last Dance won Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series. Dave Chappelle: Sticks & Stones won Outstanding Variety Special, Outstanding Directing for a Variety Special and Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special.
The rest of this year’s Emmy awards will be announced during Sunday’s ceremony on ABC.
