The first film under Eddie Murphy’s Amazon Studios deal has been set– and it is a Boomerang reunion!

The film, Candy Cane Lane, is a holiday comedy from Amazon Studios, Imagine Entertainment and Eddie Murphy Productions.

Directed by Reginald Hudlin, the film was written by Kelly Younger and produced by Brian Grazer and Murphy.

Younger drew inspiration from her early memories of family vacations for the film.

The project is a Boomerang reunion of sorts, reuniting Murphy with Hudlin, who directed that film.

It also serves as Grazer and Murphy’s ninth feature together as the former produced Boomerang as well.

The film comes after Amazon and Murphy's successful partnership with the studio 'Coming To America 2,' which became one of Prime Video's most successful films.

“The holiday season is my favorite time of year—just ask my family about my nine-hour Christmas playlist!” said director Reginald Hudlin. “I‘m excited to be working again with Eddie Murphy, Brian Grazer, and Amazon.”

“As we know firsthand with our hit Coming 2 America, Eddie is someone who brings global audiences together, and we can’t wait to make it happen again!” said Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios. “We look forward to seeing the multi-talented Reggie Hudlin take the helm in bringing this future holiday classic to life!”

Production will start in Los Angeles this winter, but plot details haven’t been revealed.
