An Emily in Paris breakout star. has been promoted, ABC’s Dancing with the Stars is moving to a new home, Disney+ has released a new trailer for its upcoming original movie, Sneakerella and more in today’s Shadow & Act news roundup.
'Dancing With The Stars' is moving over to Disney+
After airing exclusively on ABC for 30 seasons, the hit celebrity dance competition Dancing with the Stars is moving over to Disney+.
“Dancing with the Stars has entertained fans for 16 years on ABC, and we are excited to bring this beloved show exclusively to Disney+ as the platform’s first-ever live series,” Kareem Daniel, chairman of Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution said. “The show’s broad appeal, as well as the overwhelming popularity of its Disney-themed competition nights, make Disney+ the perfect home for Dancing with the Stars while continuing to expand our demographic reach.”
The streaming platform picked up the show for two seasons and will premiere exclusively in the U.S. and Canada this Fall. This will make Dancing with the Stars the first live series to debut on the streaming service.
Netflix's 'Emily In Paris' will return to production for season 3 this summer, Lucien Laviscount upped to series regular
Emily in Paris‘ creator/ executive producer Darren Star made some big announcements during the hit Netflix show’s PaleyFest event.
Not only did he reveal that production for season 3 will begin sometime this summer, but Star also shared that fan-favorite character Alfie, played by Lucien Laviscount, is now a series regular.

Emily, an ambitious marketing executive from Chicago, unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company — and she is tasked with revamping their social media strategy. Emily’s new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances.
In season 2, now more entrenched in her life in Paris, Emily’s getting better at navigating the city but still struggling with the idiosyncrasies of French life. After stumbling into a love triangle with her neighbor (Lucas Bravo) and her first real French friend (Camille Razat), Emily is determined to focus on her work — which is getting more complicated by the day. In French class, she meets a fellow expat (Lucien Laviscount) who both infuriates and intrigues her.
Emily in Paris is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, Darren Star Productions, and Jax Media. The series is led by Lily Collins.
Disney+ releases a brand new trailer for its upcoming original movie, 'Sneakerella'
Disney+ has dropped a new trailer for Sneakrella, which is coming in May after some delays.
The movie is described as “pop/hip-hop musical is set in the vibrant street-sneaker subculture of New York City and puts a contemporary twist on the Cinderella fairy tale.”
It will tell the story of El, an aspiring sneaker designer from Queens who works as a stock boy in a shoe store and hides his artistic talent. After landing a chance encounter with Kira King, the daughter of sneaker royalty and a Manhattan Princess Charming of sorts, sparks fly between the two. With some encouragement from his best friend and a little touch of magic, El finds the courage to “lace up and dream big.”
Chosen Jacobs and Lexi Underwood respectively star as El and Kira alongside a diverse ensemble cast including John Salley, Devyn Nekoda, Juan Chioran, Bryan Terrell Clark, Kolton Stewart, Robyn Alomar, Yvonne Senat Jones and Hayward Leach.
Sneakerella will be available to stream beginning May 13, exclusively on Disney+.
