Former NBA player Jalen Rose is going to take a shot at acting, starring in his very own TV series for ABC – assuming it gets picked up.

ABC has ordered a pilot for a comedy from “Fresh Off the Boat” creator Nahnatchka Khan, which follows Rose as a single father struggling to juggle his career responsibilities with the challenges of raising a child solo.

The potential series is titled “Jalen vs. Everybody.”

Rose has appeared in at least one episode of “Fresh Off the Boat” but this will be his first starring vehicle. His IMDB page says he appeared in the first “Barbershop” movie playing a customer.

Rose played in the NBA for six teams, most notably alongside Reggie Miller on the Indiana Pacers teams that made three consecutive Eastern Conference finals, including the 2000 NBA Finals. Currently, he hosts two national shows, ABC and ESPN’s “NBA Countdown” and “Jalen & Jacoby” on Sirius XM.
