Algee Smith has been added to the cast of HBO’s Euphoria.

The Zendaya-led series, from A24, boasts Drake and his manager, Future the Prince, as executive producers.

Euphoria is an adaptation of the Israeli TV series of the same name which is “Kids meets Trainspotting.

Smith plays McKay, replacing Brian “Astro” Bradley, who initially played the role in the pilot.

Shortly after the announcement, Zendaya released a super short teaser for the series on Instagram.

Smith is one of the most in-demand young actors of the moment. After his breakout role as Ralph Tresvant in The New Edition Story miniseries, he had a critically-acclaimed turn in Kathryn Bigelow’s Detroit and can currently be seen in The Hate U Give.

Euphoria is expected to premiere in 2019.

Deadline first reported Smith’s casting.
