Netflix has canceled Everything Sucks! after one season.

Jahi Winston (Proud Mary, The New Edition Story) was one of the leads for the show’s ensemble cast.

The series is described as a quirky, funny coming of age story that follows two groups of high school misfits – an A/V club and a Drama club – who collide in 1996 Oregon.

The show premiered to mixed reviews, unlike another coming-of-age dramedy, On My Block, which premiered to nearly universal acclaim.

Winston and will co-stars with Peyton Kennedy as students Luke O’Neil and Kate Messner. Joining them are actors who will play their respective parents: Claudine Nako and Patch Darragh. The series also features Sydney Sweeney, Elijah Stevenson, Quinn Liebling and Rio Mangini.  The 10-episode, half-hour dramedy was created by Ben York Jones and Michael Mohan.
