His sophomore feature “Destined” continuing to travel the international film festival circuit (picking up trophies along the way), writer/director Qasim Basir is next tackling a romantic drama set against the backdrop of last year’s election night titled “A Boy. A Girl. A Dream: Love on Election Night.”

Omari Hardwick and Meagan Good both star in the film which is being produced by Datari Turner via his Datari Turner Productions. Basir is directing from his own script.

Filming is underway in Los Angeles with Jay Ellis, Dijon Talton, Wesley Jonathan and Affion Crockett round out the cast of a movie that will center on a Los Angeles club promoter named Cass (Hardwick), who meets a woman named Free (Good) on election night 2016, as Donald Trump pulls ahead of Hillary Clinton in the race for electoral votes to win the White House. In a series of events that occur through the evening, Free challenges Cass to revisit his broken dreams.

Datari Turner, who currently has a first-look deal with Entertainment One for unscripted television, is producing, while Good and Hardwick are executive producing along with Tim Weatherspoon, Louis Steyn, TJ Steyn, Phil Thornton, Jash’d Belcher and Jamal Childs.

Shadow and Act has been granted a first-look at the upcoming movie via a set of pics from the film, and behind-the-scenes of the ongoing shoot. Check them out below.
