Shadow And Act has an exclusive clip of this week’s Cherish The Day season finale featuring the legendary Cicely Tyson!

In the below clip, ahead of her big birthday bash, Ms. Luma (Tyson) fills Gently (Xosha Roquemore) in on everything she has done to prepare for the event.

Chapter One of Ava DuVernay’s Cherish the Day, its first season, has chronicled “the stirring relationship of one couple, with each episode spanning a single day. The narrative will unfold to reveal significant moments in a relationship that compel us to hold true to the ones we love, from the extraordinary to the everyday. Xosha Roquemore stars as Gently James and Alano Miller stars as Evan Fisher. The couple meets and falls in love in Los Angeles, with the full season-spanning five years in eight episodes.” Tyson, Anne-Marie Johnson, Michael Beach and Kellee Stewart also star this season.

It was announced earlier that the series had achieved full gender parity with a production crew of over 50% women, including 18 female department heads.

Tanya Hamilton is the showrunner and directed the pilot, which DuVernay wrote. The series is produced by ARRAY Filmworks and Harpo Films in association with Warner Horizon Scripted Television. DuVernay, Hamilton, Paul Garnes and Oprah Winfrey executive produce.
