Family Of 'Good Times' Star Ja'Net DuBois Claims This Jazz Legend Is Her Father

The family of late Good Times star Ja’Net DuBois claims that the star’s biological father was jazz pioneer Cab Calloway.

According to TMZ, DuBois’ death certificate stated that her full name was Jeannette T. Calloway-DuBois and listed Calloway as her father. However, DuBois’ father has been thought to be Gordon Dubois, as listed in her official biographies online. DuBois’ daughter told TMZ that Gordon was essentially DuBois’ stepfather, saying he was “instrumental” in raising her mother.

Meanwhile, the estate of Cab Calloway is confused about the alleged paternity of DuBois.

“While we have a great appreciation for Ja’Net DuBois’ long and successful career, the Calloway Estate has nothing to add to this single document that has numerous mistakes and no verification,” leading the estate to cite various discrepancies in DuBois’ bio when it comes to her birth date and birthplace. However, the estate is willing to speak with DuBois’ family if they have “compelling facts to substantiate” their assertion.

DuBois died on February 17 at the age of 74.
