Netflix has renewed Family Reunion.

This news comes as the show isn’t quite done with its first season. The initial season is staggered, with the first half of its 20-episode season dropping earlier this summer. A Christmas special will premiere December 9, with the remaining nine episodes of Season 1 available in January 2020.

The second season, which doesn’t have a premiere date yet, will have sixteen episodes.

Here’s the description for the series, created by its showrunner, Meg DeLoatch: When the McKellan family moves from Seattle to Georgia to be closer to extended family, the transition is like being a catfish out of water. From 3 hour church services and huge humidity hair to M’Dear’s home cooking and family bonding, the everyday ups and downs of Family Reunion are real, memorable, toe-tapping, heart-stopping, laugh out loud authentic moments.

Tia Mowry-Hardrict plays Cocoa McKellan, the free-spirited mother from Seattle, Anthony Alabi is her former football-playing husband, Moz, Devine is the family matriarch, M’Dear. Richard Roundtree, Talia Jackson, Isaiah Russell-Bailey, CJ Wright and Jordyn James also star.
