Columnist E. Jean Carroll alleges to have been raped by Donald Trump during the mid-1990s.

Jean Carroll is a well-known author and columnist. She is most famous for her advice column “Ask E Jean." The column first appeared in Elle Magazine in 1993.

In a cover story published by New York Magazine, Carroll alleged that Donald Trump assaulted her in a Bergdorf Goodman department store dressing room in the fall of 1995 or spring of 1996.

The two were apparently in the lingerie section of the department store when things turned violent. Carroll writes, “[He began] forcing his fingers around my private area, thrusts his penis halfway — or completely, I’m not certain — inside me.” She claims that Trump forcibly penetrated her in the dressing room for three minutes.

There are details Carroll does not remember about the event, but she does recall trying to stomp on his feet and push him away in self defense. She also states that she has not had sex with anyone since the horrific encounter.

The cover story is an excerpt of her book titled, What Do We Need Men For?
A Modest Proposal, which is anticipated for release on July 2nd. This incident is one of six occurrences of sexual assault detailed in the book.

In the excerpt, she addresses why she has recently decided to come forward. “Receiving death threats, being driven from my home, being dismissed, being dragged through the mud, and joining the 15 women who’ve come forward with credible stories about how the man grabbed, badgered, belittled, mauled, molested, and assaulted them, only to see the man turn it around, deny, threaten, and attack them, never sounded like much fun. Also, I am a coward,” she writes.

The White House claims that Caroll’s allegations are false. However, Caroll is the 16th person to accuse Trump of sexual misconduct.
