The trailer for HBO Max’s six-part Nicki Minaj documentary series Nicki has dropped and it seems keen on giving viewers exclusive insight into the life of one of music’s biggest superstars.

When you are just focused on the business, you can lose yourself,” Minaj says in the trailer. “It was time for me to grow up and start loving myself.”

Minaj uploaded the trailer to her Instagram page Thursday:

“Coming out SOONER THANK YOU THINK. I took some time to perfect this very intimate, delicate, electrifying, inspiring body of work,” MInaj wrote in her Instagram caption. “As I decide on a home for this project, I can’t help but reflect on what I’m including in this doc. Some things are so personal, it’s scary. It’s like NOTHING you’ve seen before & I need it to be handled with care. Love you so much. Thank you for the continued support.”

The series is produced by Bron Studios and directed by Emmy nominee Michael John Warren.

Here’s the description from when the project was first announced in 2020:

Each of the six half-hour episodes of this untitled project will explore Nicki’s brilliantly creative mind and tell the story of her personal and professional journey. With complete honesty, Nicki will guide viewers through the most challenging and fulfilling times in her life, navigating highs, lows and misguided agendas in her stratospheric rise to fame and her journey to motherhood. Nicki’s many achievements include 19 Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hits, and 114 total entries on the Billboard Hot 100—the record for “Most Billboard Hot 100 Entries Ever by a Female Artist.”
