TV One’S 2017/2018 programming slate includes several new and returning shows, as well as original movies and biopics, including “Bobbi Kristina,” inspired by the life of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s only child.
Bobbi Kristina Brown grew up in the shadow of her uber famous/rockstar/superstar parents’ spotlight. The film offers an intimate look at the highs and lows/ebb and flow of parental, familial and romantic love complicated by fame, through the eyes of a sensitive, vulnerable young woman, says TV One. In addition, the film promises a complete portrayal of Bobbi Kristina, revealing her humor, her quirks, her deepest fears and longings, as well as her fight to be seen, heard, loved, and to survive, taking the viewer on a dramatic journey of memories, conflict, perseverance, faith, friendship, visions and ultimately love, between a father and a daughter, and the bond between a mother and a child.
Playing Bobbi Kristina is Disney channel star Joy Rovaris. Meanwhile, singer Demetria McKinney plays Whitney Houston. And Hassan Johnson (“The Wire”) is Bobby Brown.
Boyfriend Nick Gordon will appear in the film as well, played by Nadji Jeter (“Grown Ups”).
Vivica A. Fox rounds out the cast as Whitney’s sister-in-law Pat Houston.
“Bobbi Kristina” will premiere over the summer.
No trailer yet, but TV One released the above first look image of Demetria McKinney as Whitney Houston, Joy Rovaris as the young Bobbi Kristina, and Hassan Johnson as Bobby Brown.
