Flo Milli is fed up with fans projecting their insecurities about her rap career on her. The 23-year-old rapper elaborated on her recent comments, telling fans to stop pushing narratives about her career.

“Stop with this tired-ass narrative y’all love to push about my career,” she said in a May tweet.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, she explained that the narrative fans push most about her career is “saying I’m underrated, or the colorism thing.”

The Alabama artist wants listeners to stop comparing her to other artists. Flo Milli hopes that after speaking up on her dislike for comparisons, fans will stop putting female rap artists against one another — especially over their looks.

“Them saying I’m underrated, or the colorism thing, she said. “They want me to be insecure about my skin tone, which is never going to happen. I want people to understand everybody does not hate themselves. I think I’m a bad bitch, and there’s nothing you could say that’s going to make me think otherwise. So please stop. And I was also telling them to stop using my name to degrade other people. I want y’all to support me, but don’t try to bring another woman down in the process because that don’t make me feel good.”

Flo was upset over posted tweets dissing Ice Spice by comparing her to Flo Milli. The “Anything Flows” artist doesn’t have time for online opinions because she is busy promoting her upcoming third album, Fine Ho, Stay.

“And here I am thinking I’m living my best life. [But] you projecting what you think my life should be like. I went from not having sh*t to being where I’m at. So when you get on the internet and see people like, ‘Oh my God, I feel so bad for her…’ like, bitch, I’m not a charity case. That’s all I be saying. If I’m not complaining, I don’t think nobody else should be,” she added.
