ABC has unveiled a preview of their upcoming series, For Life.

The official description: For Life, inspired by the life of Isaac Wright Jr., is about prisoner Aaron Wallace (Nicholas Pinnock), who becomes a lawyer, litigating cases for other [incarcerated people] while fighting to overturn his own life sentence for a crime he didn’t commit. His quest for freedom is driven by his desperate desire to get back to the family he loves—his estranged wife (Joy Bryant) and daughter (Tyla Harris)—and reclaim the life that was stolen from him. For Life will also, through the window of his ferocious struggle and his complicated relationship with a progressive female prison warden (Indira Varma), examine the flaws and challenges in our penal and legal systems.

Led by Nicholas Pinnock, the series also stars Boris McGiver, Dorian Missick, Glenn Fleshler, Indira Varma, Joy Bryant, Mary Stuart Masterson and Tyla Harris.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson executive produces with George Tillman Jr., Alison Greenspan, Doug Robinson and series creator Hank Steinberg. Isaac Wright Jr. is also an EP. The series is from ABC Studios, Doug Robinson Productions, G-Unit Film & Television and Sony Pictures Television.

Wright became the first person in U.S. history to receive a life prison sentence and self-exonerate his case to gain his release and be granted a license to practice law from the same court that convicted him. He was able to secure his own release after cross-examining police detective James Dugan. The original testimony resulted in layers upon layers of cover-ups and lies to wrongly convict Wright and keep him in jail.

50 Cent initially announced he was developing a project on Wright back in 2017.
