More TV casting news… Frankie Faison has joined the cast of Banshee, Cinemax’s upcoming action drama series that centers on "an ex-convict and master thief who assumes the identity of the sheriff of Banshee, PA, where he continues his criminal activities even as he’s being hunted by the shadowy gangsters he had betrayed years earlier."
Faison will play a character named Sugar Bates, described as "a powerful and wise former boxer and ex-con who is now the owner of the local watering hole."
His will be a series regular role – at least for the 10-episodes that are on order.
Faison is one of those actors who manages to stay busy fairly consistently since the 1980s, both in film and TV, even though he's hardly ever at the fore. But you see the face and it's instantly familiar.
