Freema Agyeman (The Carrie Diaries) has joined the cast of the UK hour-long drama pilot Rubenesque, for Sky.

According to the UK’s TV Wise, Rubenesque follows a female football referee (played by Gemma Fay) whose life takes an interesting turn when, despite a lack enthusiasm for anything other than the sport, she finds herself working as plus-size model.

Created and directed by Annie Griffin, the drama is being produced by Kudos Film & Television and Pirate Productions with.

Also cast in the drama are Daniela Nardini and Gabriel Quigley – although no word on what roles they, or Agyeman, are playing.
